Most problems are complicated. War is complicated. Sex slavery is complicated. Terrorism is complicated. Racism is complicated. But there are some issues that aren't complicated. Sometimes people fight, die, or debase themselves for the lack of basic resources that all too often are just beyond their grasp.
Water is one of these resources. For millions in Kenya and Tanzania, water is just below their feet and it's relatively inexpensive for us to give it to them.
This is why I support Hydrating Humanity.
Hydrating Humanity is an organization who works to prevent death and disease, end violent conflict, and transform the economic climate of entire communities by providing sustainable, clean water sources in countries like Kenya and Tanzania. They've served nearly 100,000 people and have educated twice as many in the area of hygiene training.
Now HH has been presented with an opportunity to provide water to 150,000 school children. However to drill water sources for this entire school district, it will require a much more powerful drill than the one they have.
The new drill will cost $300,000. HH has already been given half of this amount and I want to help them raise the the other $150,000.
Think about it: $150,000 means 150,000 kids won't have to worry about sickness and death associated with water born diseases. These children won't have to fight over clean water. These children wont have to miss school because of the long walks they must make daily to get water.
This problem is not complicated: $150,000 for 150,000 kids. $1 for 1 kid.
